This opener was written for the North York Temple Band and uses the hymn “Christ the Lord is Risen Today” as the main theme. Fragments of “Thine is the Glory,” a favourite hymn at Easter, are also prevalent throughout the piece. Celebratory in nature, the overarching theme is the coming together of the Christian church to celebrate the Risen King. While the message of Easter is predominant, this would be a suitable selection at any time of the year.
